I know a lot of people are looking at Geometry Nodes but that system is still very basic and the development is still feeling stuff out so it's not really production-ready for design.
Instead, this course is about how to use Sverchok.

Sverchok is a free and open-source, node-based, parametric modelling add-on for Blender. It allows us to create complex, interconnected systems with relative ease.

I've joined up with Futurly for this one - they're a specialist platform offering workshops and courses based around architecture and design.

The course is designed to ease people into the system, even if they've not used Blender before.

🟣 The first section introduces Sverchok and teaches the foundations of the system.

🟣 In the second section we create a free-form pavilion covering a walkway. This takes a few curves as inputs and then generates and processes a surface.

🟣 In the third section we look at creating wave benches and exporting a CAD layout as an SVG that could be fabricated.

🟣 The fourth section teaches you how to use the physics nodes to simulate tensile surfaces. They're a very powerful set of nodes when looking at generative design!

🟣 In section five we go through the process of recreating the amazing Louvre Dome from Abu Dhabi designed by Jean Nouvel. We're able to do this by manipulating fully procedural geometry and then tessellating a manually created panel section across the whole thing.

🟣 Finally, in section six, we wrap up the course and set your final assignment!

Parametric (or procedural) tools are well worth learning as digital artists and designers. They offer an amazing amount of flexibility and expression. They also let you level up the complexity in your work as you'll be utilizing the strengths of your computer to do things which may be too labour intensive to do manually.

I know how hard it can be to learn Sverchok (I've been through it myself!) so I'm really excited about this course and being able to share this amazing tool with you.
